I'm an introvert who fell in love with commanding a room.
It started in my college rec center, watching an aerobics instructor hold a class in the palm of her hand. I wanted that. So I got certified, started teaching cardio kickboxing, and thought that was the whole story… until a Pilates workshop changed it. "Inhale to prepare" hit something in my perfectionist soul, and that was that. Love at first cue.
From there I got certified in nearly everything: Pilates, yoga, Lagree, spin, barre, even Piloxing (look it up) — and spent 28 years teaching anything and everything across three different continents.
Along the way I also spent time in the C-suite, and now work as a high performance coach helping people build executive presence and sharper mindset under pressure. Pilates has always been the modifier key underneath that work. The thing that changes what everything else does. Knowing how to be present in my body and centered in my mind gave me an edge long before I called it that.
CTRL exists because I missed something. After building community in Denver and Dubai, I landed in Virginia Beach and found no mat Pilates classes nearby, and heated Pilates barely on the map. So I found the room I was looking for; one with music, heat, and the kind of authentic, no-ego class I used to drive across a city for.
Come find your control. I'll be the one at the front of the studio cheering you on.
